• Accounting requirements that will take effect soon, such as the new nonprofit financial statement format required for 2018 and implementation of the new revenue recognition rules for 2019

  • Sample procurement policies that are compliant with the Uniform Guidance (single audit) requirements, sample document retention policy
  • LIHTC life-cycle tax issues (highlighting Strength Matters documents on partnerships and NPO tax issues)

Topics for future meetings include:

  • Staffing and job duty differences – property accounting vs. property managers/supervisors – who does what?
  • Staffing and job duty differences – development accounting vs. development project managers – who does what?
  • Preparing for the new NPO financial statement format (liquidity disclosures, functional expenses, etc.)
  • Other Strength Matters projects on insurance coverage, document retention policy, accounting standards update

These quarterly roundtables have proven to be a valuable resource for participants. You will gain the knowledge you seek, have a forum to share your experiences, and learn best practices championed by your peers.
